' space between us is flexible '
Las ciudades tienen cada vez más habitantes. Como consecuencia los espacios que ocupamos son cada vez mas reducidos. Esto amerita una nueva visión con respecto al diseño arquitectónico e industrial. El espacio puede alojar múltiples funciones y hacerse mucho más útil si es capaz de transformarse, modificarse y así mejorar la calidad de vida de los que lo habitan.
Cities have an ever-growing population. As a consequence spaces that we occupy are smaller each time. This calls for a new vision with respect to architectural and industrial design. Space may hold multiple functions and become much more useful if it is capable to transform, modify itself and thus improve the quality of life of its inhabitants.
Los objetos y espacios determinan la forma como habitamos. Si son flexibles, nos sentimos libres y cómodos. ' e n t r e ' es un sistema para definir espacios a través de cerramientos y divisiones dinámicas. Ofrece múltiples posibilidades a medida que se pliega o despliega lo que permite al usuario jugar con la permeabilidad de luz/aire, mostrando u ocultando aberturas y colores.
Objects and space determine the way we live, if they are flexible we feel free and comfortable. 'entre' or 'between' is a system wich defines space through closures and dynamic partitions. It offers multiple possibilities as it folds and unfolds allowing the user to play with the permeability of lightair, showing and hiding openings and colors.
El espacio entre nosotros y con nuestro entorno, las conexiones que articulan los objetos internamente y entre ellos, las transiciones entre los momentos, son relaciones flexibles y cambiantes. Se trata de un juego que conjuga el lleno/vacío, transparente/opaco, color/multicolor, blanco/negro, luz/oscuridad, abrir/cerrar, mostrar/ocultar, entrar/salir, plegar/desplegar… En el sistema ' e n t r e ', inspirado en el juguete tradicional Jacob's ladder, el usuario es participe activo en la creación de espacios a partir de sus necesidades.
The space in between us and with our surroundings, the connections that articulate objects internally and in between them, the transitions between moments, these are flexible and changing connections. It's about a game that regards the full/empty, transparent/opaque, color/multicolor, black/white, light/darkness, open/close, show/hide, in/out, fold/unfold… In ' e n t r e ' system, inspired on the traditional Jacob's ladder toy, the user is an active participant in the creation of spaces starting by their necessities.
El sistema puede ser realizado en diversos materiales, proporciones y orientación según el uso que se le va a dar. Se estructura a través de módulos de aluminio con nodos mecanizados desarmables y bandas de tela o mallas que unen y generan superficie. ' e n t r e ' puede tener diferentes aplicaciones como mobiliario, ventanas, persianas, parabanes y experiencias lúdicas, así como cerramientos dinámicos a menor o mayor escala en fachadas y cubiertas.
The system can be made of different materials, proportions and orientation upon the use that will be given to it. It's structured by aluminum modules with mechanical nodes that can be disassembled and strips of fabric or meshes that ensembles and generates surface. ' e n t r e ' can have different applications like furniture, windows, shades, folding screens, partition and ludic experiences, as well as dynamic enclosures on smaller or larger scales in facades and cover roofs.
